Forex cards can be used to pay balances, but there are often issues when payments are attempted. If it is branded with a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express logo it should be able to be used.
If your forex card payment is declined, the first thing you should do is to contact your card issuer by calling the number on the back of the card or calling the bank that issued your forex card. They will be able to tell you the reason why your card has been declined and what steps you need to take to unblock it.
The Business Office does not receive any information as to why a card is declined, please contact your card issuer or bank.
Here are some common reasons why forex cards get declined and what you can do to avoid it:
1. Insufficient funds: One of the most common reasons why forex cards get declined is due to insufficient funds. If you have used up all the money on your card or have exceeded the daily withdrawal limit, your card may get declined. To avoid this, make sure you keep track of your spending and reload your card before you run out of money. You should also make sure to have enough funds on your card to cover any added convenience fees.
2. Fraudulent activity: Forex cards are vulnerable to fraudulent activity, just like any other financial instrument. If your card issuer suspects any fraudulent activity on your card, they may decline it to prevent further damage. To avoid this, make sure you keep your card safe and secure, and avoid using it on unsecured or suspicious websites.
3. Technical issues: Sometimes, forex cards can get declined due to technical issues such as system maintenance or network outages. In such cases, you can contact your card issuer to find out when the issue is likely to be resolved and when you can access your funds again.
4. Expiry date: Forex cards have an expiry date, which means that they cannot be used beyond a certain period. If your card has expired, it may get declined, and you may need to apply for a new card. To avoid this, make sure you check the expiry date of your card before you travel and apply for a new card in advance if necessary.
